Flow Data accessibility statement

The Flow Data website has been designed to be accessible to all web users, using guidelines taken from the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0. If you have identified any specific accessibility problems, please contact cider@census.ac.uk.


The Flow Data website is primarily tested using the Firefox web browser, with the Firebug and Accessibility Inspector extensions. Layout and presentation are also tested in other browsers. Please note that Internet Explorer 7 is no longer supported.

Comments on page elements and features


All pages in the Flow Data website should validate as HTML 4.01 Transitional


Although there is limited use of Javascript in the Flow Data website, it is advisable to have it enabled. Some example uses include automated form completion and the downloads page


It is necessary for your browser to accept cookies to be able to use WICID. A page at the Census Registration Service gives advice on how to configure browsers to accept cookies

Opening new windows

New windows are opened by some page elements, in particular the information system which provides detailed information about dataset contents etc. and the integrated 'Help' system.
